TIRANA, March 17 /ATA/ The Commission on Productive Activities, Trade, and the Environment held its regular meeting today, where the Annual Report of the Energy Secretariat on the 2024 implementation for Albania was presented.
The guest speaker was Artur Lorkowski, Chairman of the Energy Secretariat.
The Chairman of the Commission, Arben Pëllumbi, said that Albania has done a good job in this regard, which is also reflected in this report. “Energy and climate issues remain essential for the EU, and consequently, they will remain so for us,” emphasized Pëllumbi.
During the presentation of the report, Lorkowski stated that Albania has made significant progress in reporting on climate and energy.
He also highlighted the need for the adoption of the necessary legislation regarding the use of biofuels.
“This would also require the development of appropriate legislation regarding environmental standards for biofuels and biomass, so that you can integrate more biofuels and biomass into your energy mix, while at the same time protecting the environment. It is extremely important that this balanced approach is being offered,” Lorkowski pointed out.
On the other hand, Albania will need to adopt additional legislative packages as part of its commitment as a member of the Energy Community.
After the presentation of the report, Chairman Pëllumbi thanked the Energy Community Secretariat and Lorkowski for their cooperation and support on such important issues.
