TIRANA, March 15 /ATA/ The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a conversation with citizens on social media on Saturday addressed the lists of candidates for deputies in the May 11 elections.
Berisha stated, “The Democratic Party is putting forward the most representative candidates in its history. These are individuals with extensive political careers, who have held public office as true servants of the people.”
Commenting on the Socialist Party’s candidate list, Berisha stated, “The first group on Edi Rama’s list consists entirely of individuals involved in serious cases under investigation by SPAK.” “They come and go. They secure a seat, serve for four years, carry on with their work, then bring in another group of ‘tourists,’ swap them in and out, passing this off as a rejuvenation,” Berisha said.
In addition, the Chairman of the Democratic Party said, “We will do everything in our power to protect the vote. We are entering these elections following three international resolutions, endorsed by 193 political parties worldwide, which have condemned Rama’s elections as an electoral farce.”
“One of the fundamental pillars of our program is EU integration,” emphasized Berisha, stating that “Rama does not meet any other criteria, except for the geostrategic criterion, which is an important criterion, but this is a natural one.”
