TIRANA, March 13 /ATA/ Marta Kos, the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, said today that she sees only a European future for Albania.
In a press conference alongside Prime Minister Edi Rama, Kos said she does not expect the elections to slow down the EU integration process.
Kos was asked how much the elections would impact the technical process if there were a political rotation.
“I do not expect the elections to slow down the EU integration process because they will take place over a long period, and it is a deep process. I am confident that all these reforms will continue. These reforms are not being carried out by Albania because the European Union wants them, but this is a transformative process for Albania, and it is the Albanian citizens themselves who will decide what kind of government they will have in the upcoming elections. In my opinion, Europe is so much embedded in Albania that I see only a European future for the country,” said Kos. /j.p/sm/
