Koman road construction, local community: A dream come true, key to area’s development

TIRANA, March 10 /ATA/- The construction of the Koman road in the municipality of Vau i Dejës, in Shkodër, a 31-kilometer stretch, is now a dream becoming a reality for the residents of the area.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared on social media several opinions from citizens at the construction site of the Koman Road.

Rama emphasizes that this road segment, which connects the two hydropower plants, enhances traffic safety and gives a new boost to tourism in this other blessed region of Albania.

An immigration returnee in this area expresses his satisfaction with the construction of the road.

“Everything begins here. I returned from emigration and attempted to start a business, but the biggest challenge was the road. Since construction got underway, there has been increased interest in coming here to invest and work. The Koman road is the lifeblood and key to this area. We have gained confidence that the promises made are becoming a reality. It’s doubly inspiring—not only is the road being built, but it also brings great satisfaction to see promises being fulfilled,” he says.

A young woman highlights that their goal is to see the Koman area thrive with new investments after many years. “For us young people, especially those of us from Koman, it’s very important because it motivates us to return to our homeland and invest. After so many years, we want to witness this place flourishing with new investments and, why not, assist our parents,” she shared.

Furthermore, another resident states, “This is very important; we have been waiting for it for many years. We have been very persistent, going door to door, but this will have a 100% positive impact. I take this opportunity to thank the Prime Minister and the Albanian government for making this long-awaited dream a reality.”

“This road benefits everyone, but above all, I believe it benefits healthcare, as it concerns people’s lives. It has been a great blessing for us, as transporting a patient, which previously took over two hours, is now reduced by half, ensuring timely assistance and smooth operations. This road is a lifeline for local community,” says another resident of the area.
