TIRANA, February 18/ATA/ Agency of Administration of Sequestered and Confiscated Assets has published for the first time a catalog of confiscated assets, taking an important step forward towards more transparency and accountability.

In a press release, the Agency emphasized that this catalog contains a detailed list of assets confiscated by final court decision, including complete information on their type, location and current status.

The catalog has been published in accordance with the applicable legal framework, in particular based on Law No. 34/2019 “On the Administration of Sequestered and Confiscated Assets”, which sets out the rules and procedures for the sequestration, confiscation and administration of illegally obtained assets.

The main purpose of this publication is to ensure full and clear information to the public and interested parties, strengthening trust and integrity in the process of administering confiscated assets.

“The initiative for the compilation and publication of the catalog was taken by the Chief Administrator of the Agency Risena Xhaja, who upon her appointment to office in October 2024, established the working group and ordered the production of the catalog, which aims to increase transparency and public access to information on confiscated assets; to improve accountability in the process of administering and using these assets; as well as to promote cooperation and trust between institutions and citizens,” a press release stated.

The Agency is also in the process of compiling and publishing the catalog of seized assets, while it is carrying out a complete inventory of the entire database of assets under administration, with the aim of further increasing transparency, efficiency and good administration of these assets.
