TIRANA, February 14/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama appreciated today the issuance of 10-year Eurobond in international markets as a success story while he said that the number of interested investors reached 159.
PM Rama said that the successful conclusion of this process shows confidence in Albania, the economy and finances.
“The 10-year Eurobond process has just been successfully concluded. We have just received the green light to share this news with the public. This was the most successful issuance ever in terms of three things. First, there is the interest of foreign investors. They offered 4.3 times more than our needs and even during the day the offer went up to 5.7 times more than our needs. This made us lower the interest rate to drive away some of the investors. This coverage is the highest recorded among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe since October 2024. Secondly, there is the highest number of investors, 159. Third, there is a lower interest rate for Albania than for countries like Serbia and Romania for 10-year bonds, which actually have a higher rating than us at the moment”, stated PM Rama during a statement in the social media.
According to PM Rama, this is not only providing liquidity with good financial conditions, but it also shows Albania’s new positioning.
“What does this mean? It is not only providing liquidity with very good financial conditions, but it shows Albania’s new positioning, respect in international markets. And in essence, there is only one word that says it all: trust. Trust in the Albanian economy and in the finances of Albania”, emphasized Rama.
According to him, everyone is trusting Albania, more and more every day, in all political, economic and financial directions.
Albania appeared on February 11, 2025, for the 7th time in the capital markets, successfully issuing a Eurobond worth 650 million euros.
Through a press release, the Ministry of Finance announced that this Eurobond was issued with a 4.75% coupon and an interest rate (yield) of 5%. The instrument has a 10-year lifespan and will mature in February 2035. /p.s./
