Dogjani: Murder figures are appalling, insecurity among citizens

TIRANA, Feb 13 /ATA/ During a questions and answers session with Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha, the Democratic Party MP Asllan Dogjani stated, ” The wave of murders has overtaken the country, and the greatest risk in this situation comes from the leadership of this nation.

He pointed out that he had requested this interpellation due to the great danger posed by criminal groups and the increase in murders.

“The biggest threat of crime doesn’t come from criminal groups, but from the individual who leads them. In 2024 alone, the number of crimes has surged to alarming levels, leaving citizens in fear, panic, and uncertainty. The primary culprit is the one who empowers and supports crime,” stated Dogjani.

“Murders are taking place in cafes and on streets filled with pedestrians, while terror has permeated every corner of Albania. Crime in this country is not just a problem; it’s a national disaster. Albania has turned into a war zone. The state has completely failed to ensure the safety of its citizens because of the government’s ties with crime,” said Dogjani.

He pointed out that in just one month, there have been 7 murders and dozens of injuries. The year 2024 ended with 50 murders.
