TIRANA, Feb 12 /ATA/ – The Council of Ministers has approved a draft law on ratification of the agreement between the Republic of Albania and the European Investment Bank (EIB), clearing the way to opening an EIB Representation in Albania.
The decision was made at a regular cabinet meeting on Wednesday upon a proposal tabled by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani.
The bill will be forwarded to be reviewed with accelerated procedure by parliament.
Opening the EIB Representation is expected to bolster financial cooperation and ease Albania’s access to the Bank’s funding for development projects on the country’s strategic sectors.
The decision enters into force immediately.
