TIRANA, Jan 31 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the launch of the first program in Albania by Plug and Play, one of the world’s leading startup accelerators, as Tirana is emerging as a key innovation and entrepreneurship center in the Balkans.
The Plug and Play Tirana Accelerator Program was officially introduced at the Pyramid of Tirana, bringing together representatives from the Albanian Government, the Municipality of Tirana, the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF), and IDEMIA Smart Identity (ISI).
In his opening remarks, the government head welcomed the establishment of Plug and Play in Tirana, saying Albania is emerging as a regional hub for innovation. Rama emphasized the accelerator’s significance for Albania’s innovation ecosystem.
“Plug and Play has settled in the city, whose international airport has experienced highest growth in Europe,” Rama noted.
