TIRANA, Jan 30 /ATA/ The State Commissioner of Elections, Ilirjan Celibashi, met on Thursday with representatives of UN Women at the Central Election Commission to discuss increasing women’s participation in politics.
The UN Women Albania representative, Michele Ribotta, presented recommendations for empowering women, emphasizing the need for equal opportunities and support for women who wish to get involved into politics.
A key initiative discussed was the creation of informational spots and materials, along with organizing targeted training sessions for women who intend to run in the 2025 elections.et e 2025.
These training sessions will provide practical guidance on completing documentation, organizing election campaigns, and addressing challenges such as hate speech and intimidation, especially on social media.
Celibashi praised the collaboration with UN Women and emphasized the importance of continuing joint initiatives to ensure equal participation of women in politics. /j.p/sm/
