TIRANA, January 18 /ATA/ More and more foreign tourists are being attracted by agritourism in Albania.
The “Old Tragjas” farm, about 8 kilometers from Orikumi, is one of the latest family investments that has become an oasis of peace and tranquility in the green nature of the Vlora mountains.
Sofo and Dhurata, who manage this agritourism that offers traditional food from the area, were today guests of Prime Minister Edi Rama to “Flasim” (Let’s Talk) podcast, entitled “Farm of Happiness”.
Set in mountainous terrain, their agritourism offers a touch of the old pastoral lifestyle to anyone who chooses to visit.
Having over 250 goats and cows that grow in the wild nature of the area, Dhurata said that the visitors, mainly foreigners, become part of their daily lives, even taking care of the animals.
While the guesthouses are built with ecological materials, straw and wood, making every detail of mountain life tangible, their restaurant offers organic food from their livestock products.
While praising the initiative of this family to invest in “Old Tragjas”, PM Rama invited them to apply to benefit from the “Mountain Package” program, to further expand their activity.
“Agritourism has no taxes. We have made VAT 6% for agritourism. We now have a new program (Package of Mountains) that we will announce soon and that will provide financial support for these types of activities. You immediately receive that financial support. It is a combination of soft loan support with grants”, said Rama. /a.f/p.s./
