TIRANA, December 18/ATA/ President Bajram Begaj received today the Diaspora Coordination Council on occasion of the International Migrants Day.
Expressing special gratitude and appreciation for their contribution to the benefit of the Albanian nation, the Head of State emphasized that the Albanian state, in accordance with its constitutional obligations, protects the rights of Albanian nationals wherever they live temporarily or permanently.
President Begaj appreciated Albanians of the Diaspora a positive energy of Albania.
“You are the most inspiring example of how Albanians, despite the difficulties, have managed to integrate, to become an active part of the countries where they live but, on the other hand, have not forgotten their first homeland,” he emphasized.
The president also praised all the efforts of the Albanian Diaspora in protection, preservation and heritage of the Albanian language, thanking in particular the volunteer teachers for their extraordinary contribution to teaching the Albanian language.
Together with the Diaspora Coordination Council, the president shared ideas and proposals on finding new ways to facilitate the learning of the Albanian language by children born in the Diaspora through the creation of national television platforms.
The members of the Council thanked the president for his stance in support of creating the possibility for the out-of-the-country vote.
“I think that the Diaspora vote is very significant for Albania”, – President Begaj reiterated his conviction.
At the conclusion of this meeting, President Begaj said that, “Together, we will be stronger.”/p.s./
