Berisha: Civil disobedience, national protest on December 23rd

TIRANA, Dec 9 /ATA/ The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, announced on Monday that December 23 will be the date of the next protest organized by the DP.

He told a press conference that December 23, 2024, will see the most powerful act of national disobedience in Albania ever.

Berisha called on everyone to participate in this act of civil disobedience.

He asserted that this protest will be as powerful as an electric shock to what he refers to as “Edi Rama’s narcotic-dictatorial regime.”

“December 23 will be the day of the strongest national disobedience Albania has ever seen. The modalities of this disobedience will be determined by the responsible group, but opposition members and democrats from all over Albania and around the world must unite on the 23rd in a civil disobedience that should have the power of an electric shock for Edi Rama’s narcotic-dictatorial regime,” said Berisha.

Berisha also published the latest resolution approved by the International Democratic Union (IDU).

The leader of the Democratic Party emphasized that, “this resolution, unanimously voted in Washington, is a strong support not only for the Democratic Party, but also for every Albanian who aspires to live in a free and democratic country that holds free and fair elections, rather than in a narco-state.”

Berisha focused on the caretaker government, which he described as a fundamental demand, adding that the caretaker government could be enshrined in the constitution so that, 4 or 3 months from now before elections it will start preparations for the upcoming elections.
