TIRANA, December 6/ATA/ Since December 2, when the distribution of the New Year bonus began, 118,696 pensioners have withdrawn it at the offices of the Albanian Post Office and second-tier banks.
Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja announced that pensioners can withdraw the bonus at any time until June 30.
The pensioners have positively assessed the government’s initiative for their support on the eve of the festive holidays. They say that the bonus is a help to them.
724,933 pensioners benefit bonus, among whom 511,173 pensioners with a pension of up to 20,000 lekë benefit 15,000 lekë and 213,760 pensioners with a pension of over 20,000 lekë benefit 10,000 lekë.
This scheme includes also 65,763 disabled pensioners, 44,561 family pensioners and 2,900 early retired servicemen. For these categories, the bonus is 15 thousand lekë.
This package also includes 91,000 village pensions, with a significant increase that reaches up to 66.3% of the annual bonus effect for the family category in the village.
With a total budget fund of 100 million euros, this bonus has a significant impact, increasing the 15-thousand lekë pensions by an average of 9%, the social pension by 13% and the family pension by 35%.
Besides the New Year bonus, Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that the government will enable the spring bonus, which will be valid in every subsequent year for the pensioners. /j.p/p.s./
