TIRANA, December 5 /ATA/ In answer to the request of the Chairperson of the Parliamentary group of the Democratic Party Gazment Bardhi to share the Venice Commission document on the issue of the mandate of the Socialist Party MP Olta Xhaҫka, Speaker of the Assembly Elisa Spiropali stated that there is no document from the Venice Commission to share.
“As soon as it arrives, it will certainly be shared according to the rules of the Venice Commission, not of the Albanian Parliament. So, they are the ones who define when the draft is made public”, said the Speaker of the Parliament.
“The ruling majority in the Assembly does not have any draft of the Venice Commission on this issue”, said Spiropali.
Spiropali stated that, “The moment the draft is made public, according to the rules of the Venice Commission, the Parliamentary majority and minority will have that draft at the same time”.
On his part, the Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary group Niko Peleshi expressed his support for Bardhi’s opinion.
“The issue you have addressed to the Venice Commission is not an issue of the Socialist Party, you are quite right; it belongs to the Albanian Parliament. All MPs, as an institution, are interested in that opinion. I share Bardhi’s request if a draft will officially come from the Venice Commission and we, as a Parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, would be interested in getting acquainted with it”, he said. /j.p/p.s./
