TIRANA, Dec 5 /ATA/ Linda Karçanaj, the Director of the National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI), held a meeting on Thursday with Yves Belliveau, a representative of the Canadian Embassy in Italy, and Gregory Bunghardt from the Canadian Department of Public Safety.
Karçanaj informed that the meeting revolved around cybersecurity and protection against imminent threats.
“At the same time, we revisited our experience in managing the attack back in July two years ago, where our swift response helped us navigate the situation at minimal costs. The Canadian colleagues, speaking about similar incidents and potential threats, shared that efforts are currently being made in their country to enhance legislation and create an action plan to counter cyberattacks,” said Karçanaj.
Regarding the use of the social network TikTok, Karçanaj announced that “Canada has banned the downloading and use of this app on government officials’ work phones.”
“Among other things, we discussed the progress and challenges of artificial intelligence, focusing on the importance of developing a regulatory framework that promotes its responsible use, without stifling the innovative potential it brings. Today’s meeting was another very fruitful one, to learn from and share experiences with each other and to continue with concrete steps in collaboration,” said Karçanaj.
