Adriatic Charter, Wallander: US Vision is focused on peace and stability

TIRANA, Dec 4 /ATA/ U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense, Celeste Wallander, emphasized on Wednesday the importance of cooperation among the countries that are part of the Adriatic Charter.

The Defense Ministers of the member and observer countries of the U.S.-Adriatic Charter Initiative (A-5) gathered in Tirana to discuss a range of important issues related to Defense and Security in the Western Balkans and beyond.
Wallander expressed her gratitude for the work done in this field over the past years, adding that being a NATO member is one of the key principles of the Adriatic Charter.

“I want to express my deep gratitude for the work done in recent years, where significant results have been achieved in addressing our major challenges,” she emphasized.
“We are not just close partners, but also friends. The vision of the United States is certainly for peace and stability. Today’s discussion addressed these ideas, and Russia’s aggressive intervention in Ukraine. We have laid a strong foundation for what we will do in 2025. What matters is action, not the words we say,” she stated.
With the conclusion of this ministerial, Albania’s engagement in this initiative for the year also comes to a close.
In 2024, Albania hosted a series of high-level political and military events within the framework of Balkans CHODs, SEDM, and specifically the US-A-5, becoming a hub for regional cooperation in the field of Security and Defense.
