TIRANA, Dec 2 /ATA/ – Albania’s economic sentiment indicator (ESI) rose to 113 points, although it slightly fell by 0.4 points in October, currently standing around 13 points above the long-term average, the Bank of Albania said in its latest Business and Consumer Survey,
According to central bank, ESI decline in October was mainly driven by the higher confidence in the service sector.
The fall was also slightly influenced by the lower confidence in the country’s industry.
On the other hand, higher consumer confidence and the increased confidence in the trade sector provided their impact in this regard, though at a lower extent.
The increase was driven by higher confidence in the service sector, which confidence indicator rose by 4 pp to stand 19 pp above the historic average, Bank of Albania said in a monthly business and consumer confidence survey.
According to the central bank’s Business and Consumer Survey findings, the Industry Confidence Indicator (ICI) dipped by 0.9 percentage points in October, standing around 10 percentage points above the historical average. The ICI was down this month mainly as businesses reported less optimistic appraisals on current industrial production, particularly concerning the level of new order books.
Construction Confidence Indicator (BCI) rose 5.1 percentage points, currently standing around 28 points about the historic level.
The confidence indicator of the trade sector slightly rose, by 0.1 pp to some 10 points above average.
