TIRANA, Nov 12 /ATA/Prime Minister Edi Rama is on Tuesday in Baku, Azerbaijan, where he is participating in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Rama shared a family photo on social media from the World Climate Summit, COP29, which is taking place in Baku from November 12-13, 2024.
A key expectation from COP29 is the agreement on a fair and ambitious new Quantified Collective Goal on Climate Finance (NCQG).
The fourteen initiatives proposed by the COP29 Presidency include integrating climate action with sustainable development goals, developing green energy corridors, creating solutions for green energy storage, advancing clean hydrogen, reducing methane from organic waste, and promoting green digital action.
These initiatives aim to generate climate finance, which is crucial for achieving the global warming target of 1.5°C and ensuring a unified global response to climate change.
