TIRANA, Oct 26 /ATA/ – Addressing a meeting with New York’s Albanian diaspora on Saturday, Prime Minister Edi Rama pointed out his government’s anti-corruption measures, particularly the Justice Reform launched by his Socialist Party.
The government head underlined that the new and independent justice bodies are yielding important results in the fight against high-profile corruption cases, involving senior officials within his Socialist Party as well as the opposition.
“The independent justice system has targeted high-profile individuals within the ruling party in Albania, This is true because it is only one state-building political party, namely the Socialist Party that delivered on the justice reform to attack corruption regardless of political affiliation,” PM Rama said.
Rama credited Albania’s progress in this area to strategic support from the United States and the European Union, while underscoring his party’s role in dismantling a culture of impunity.
