TIRANA, October 23/ATA/ “There are 156,000 employees in 17 sectors of the economy who have declared a salary of 50,000 new ALL per month because as we are aware this salary is exempt from taxation”.
Prime Minister Edi Rama made the statement today during the meeting with the relevant tax bodies for the presentation of the plan for the fight against informality.
“No one can accept this because they are false wages. However, from this lie and from this criminal approach to pensioners, we have a very big gap, which we compensate by investing half a billion euros to supplement pensions. I say, without these half a billion euros, the pensions cannot be paid at the level they are today”, emphasized Rama.
The head of the government said that the problem of pensions is not solved with good will alone, nor is it solved with the idea of let’s increase them today without seeing that tomorrow it can lead to the abyss.
“Today, we are in the conditions where we have 1/4 of the budget that goes to pensions while we lack the contribution of entrepreneurship, the legal contribution of entrepreneurship although we have created a lot of facilities to the entrepreneurship”, emphasized Rama.
PM Rama added that the taxes are for the children, for the future, to invest in nurseries, kindergartens, schools, hospitals, infrastructure, for all kinds of services.
“But, the social insurance is for the pensioners; they are two separate things that cannot be combined. Now, we want to increase the pensions, but how are we going to increase them unilaterally, and no matter how much we increase them unilaterally, we cannot increase them as much as they should be increased unless the other side gets involved, which are the entrepreneurs”, said Rama. /k.s/j.p/p.s./
