TIRANA, Oct 22 /ATA/ The Democratic Party stated on Tuesday that the pension reform undertaken by the majority 11 years ago has failed.
In a media statement, the economic advisor in the Democratic Party, Dorian Teliti, said that in these years, “although prices have increased 2-3 times, pensions have only increased less than 30%.”
In his media statement, Teliti said that setting a subsistence level of 220 euros is now a national necessity in the fight against poverty.
Teliti stated that the real and substantial increase of pensions, with the goal of doubling them within the first term, is a major commitment of the Democratic Party.
“Albania has the resources, and the state budget has all the financial means to win the battle against hunger, suffice it to remove the tax abusers from their government seats,” stated Teliti.
