TIRANA, Oct 22 /ATA/ – The main opposition Democratic Party’s parliamentary group began a visit to the European Parliament on Tuesday.
DP lawmakers Gazment Bardhi, Flamur Noka, Jorida Tabaku, Agron Gjekmarkaj and Albana Vokshi met with MPs Sandro Gozi and Oihane Agirregoitia Martínez from Renew Europe, the pro-European and centrist political group in the European Parliament.
“It is unimaginable for any European friend of Albania to perceive that our country, although a EU candidate, has destroyed the rule of law, checks and balances and has eliminated free and fair elections,” the Chairman of the DP parliamentary group Gazment Bardhi said in a post on the social media.
“Talks with two supporters of European Albania focused on providing complete information on situation in Albania,” Bardhi said, adding that “Albania is the only country governed by the organized crime.”
“Albania is the only country where organized crime organizations dictate the Socialist Party’s list of candidates running in general elections. Edi Rama’s criminal government is seeking to liquidate the opposition through the political imprisonment of the opposition leadership, taking us 34 years and more back and seriously questioning democracy,” Bardhi claimed.
