TIRANA, Oct 21 /ATA/ – The cargo volume handled at the Durres-Porto Romano seaport complex was estimated at over 5.4 million tons from January through September 2024, data from the Durres Port Authority showed on Monday.
According to the Durres Port Authority, Albania’s exports have increased 7%, an indicator of the development of the domestic production sector and the increase in demand for Albanian products in international markets.
“This increase is driven by improvement in trade conditions, the diversification of exported products, or new trade agreements with partner countries,” Port Authority said.
On the other hand, imports to the country also rose 16%, reflecting increased demand for imported goods. Growth in imports is driven by increased domestic consumption, the development of industry and the needs for raw materials or processed products.
