TIRANA, Oct 17 /ATA/ The Charge d’affaires at the US embassy in Tirana Nancy VanHorn met again with SPAK Chief Special Prosecutor Altin Dumani and praised SPAK’s achievements in successfully prosecuting corruption and organized crime at the highest levels.
The US embassy writes that Ms. VanHorn and Mr. Dumani discussed how SPAK and the NBI cannot do this work alone and must rely on institutions like the police, courts, prosecutor offices, vetting offices, inspectorates, and councils to do their part with independence, dedication, and integrity.
This is crucial to protecting the gains Albania has made in rule of law, a key part of the EU accession process.
