TIRANA, October 7 /ATA/ The Independent Qualification Commission decided today to dismiss from office Prosecutor Xhemal Saliaj, after reviewing the documentation and holding the hearing session on October 4.
The Commission took the decision for the subject of re-evaluation with a majority of votes due to problems with wealth.
Xhemal Saliaj worked as a prosecutor in the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Vlora.
The decision, reasoned in writing, by the panel chaired by Alma Faskaj, Pamela Qirko relator, Xhensila Pine member will be notified to the subject of the re-evaluation, the Public Commissioner and international observers within 30 days.
This decision can be appealed to the Special Appellate College by the subject of re-evaluation and/or the Public Commissioner 15 days from the date of notification of the Commission’s decision.
The appeal is filed with the Independent Qualification Commission. /p.s./
