TIRANA, October 2 /ATA/ Chairmen Conference approved in today’s meeting the roadmap for the functioning of democratic institutions, an essential political document for the European integration process.
This roadmap, one of the main preconditions for opening negotiations with the European Union, was approved without the presence of the opposition MPs.
The Parliamentary group of the ruling Socialist Party issued a press release to confirm that it remains fully committed to support and advance this strategic objective of Albania, strengthening the commitment to democratic processes and European integration.
The head of the Parliamentary group of the Socialist Party Niko Peleshi wrote in the social media that, “The roadmap approved today for the functioning of democratic institutions represents a big step forward in the journey towards membership in the European Union”.
Peleshi stated that, “Unfortunately, this important process was carried out without the presence of the opposition. European integration must be beyond the politics of the day and a common value for all political forces that aspire to the common good and our European future.
