TIRANA, Sept 26 /ATA/ The Democratic Party reacted on Thursday after the MP Ervin Salianji was sentenced to 1 year in jail on charge of false reporting by the Court of Appeal in connection with the “Babalja” file.
In a media statement, the DP states that Salianji was sentenced to political imprisonment.
DP emphasizes that “Rama sentenced opposition MP Ervin Salianji to political imprisonment for his courageous battle against Edi Rama and his narco-state”.
According to DP, this sentence is an act of blind political revenge.
“Today’s appeal court decision which sentences Ervin Salianji to one year in jail proves that in this country, drugs and crime linked to the government are the main decision-makers in the Albanian narco-state”, it is further stated in the DP statement.
Furthermore, the DP condemns in the media statement what it describes as “a hideous political act against the Democratic Party, the opposition and political pluralism in Albania which is a testimony of ruthless terror against the opposition, the Democratic Party”.
