TIRANA, Sept 20 /ATA/ – Third meeting of the Steering Committee of the RenewPort project and the launch meeting of the Adrirec project took place in the Italian city of Trieste on September 18 -19.
Project partners, including four technical group members from Durres Port Authority, attended the two meetings.
The meeting’s agenda included presentation of the Durres port’s investment plans on installation of solar power panels.
Main goal of the RENEWPORT project, funded by Euro Med Programme, is to facilitate energy transition of ports in the Mediterranean region by taking advantage of new opportunities for energy production and the reduction of decarbonisation.
Durres Port plans an investment project on installation of solar panel systems in an area of 2142 square meters on the roof of administrative buildings.
The ADRIREC project, funded by the Interreg IPA Adrion Program, focuses on harnessing the potential of renewable energy. Investments in this direction will reduce billing costs from the National Energy Distributor, as well as reduce the environmental impact of using energy from fossil sources.
