EU Ambassador: Connectivity is about creating sustainable partnership

TIRANA, Sept 11 /ATA/ – The European Union Ambassador to Albania re-emphasised Wednesday the EU’s unprecedented support in the field of connectivity, including 9 billion euros earmarked under the Economic and Investment Plan and the 6 billion euros earmarked for the Western Balkan region through the Reform and Growth Facility.

Addressing the Tirana Connectivity Forum, the EU diplomat noted that both financial instruments reflect the EU commitment to further assist the EU-related reforms and narrowing the socio-economic gap between the region and the bloc.

“By investing in key areas like digitalization, energy, and transport, we are not only enhancing connectivity but also paving the way for a stronger, more resilient Europe,” Ambassador Gonzato said.

EU Ambassador also underlined that connectivity is much more than infrastructure; it is about creating sustainable partnerships that underpin peace, stability, and prosperity in the Western Balkans.
