TIRANA, Sept 10 /ATA/ – The Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha pledged support for the ongoing capacity building efforts and training of the Republican Guard as an elite security unit in Albania.
In remarks at a ceremony to introduce the new Republican Guard head, the Interior Minister underlined that reforming the elite unit tasked with protecting high-level state officials is a must.
“My first visit to the Republican Guard Headquarters marks a significant moment with the introduction of the new Director General of the Republican Guard, Ermal Onuzi, who was selected for the job following an open competition process among the best security professionals. I am confident that the new Director will take reform forward to transform Republican Guard into elite unit,” Hoxha said.
Interior Minister underlined the need for continued reform efforts to ensure that the Republican Guard best accomplishes security missions and becomes a modern and professional institution.
