TIRANA, Sept 9 /ATA/ – A total of 57 schools and kindergartens have been reconstructed or repaired under the “EU4Schools” across Albania to date, while reconstruction of five more educational facilities is underway.
Launched in April 2020, 57 out of 63 planned educational facilities have been built back in 11 municipalities across Albania, after the country was hit by a devastating earthquake in November 2019.
Around 20,000 children began their new school journey on Monday in modern facilities, thanks to the EU4Schools programme.
“EU4Schools” is a Programme funded by the European Union with 75 million euros and is being implemented by the UNDP, in collaboration with the Albanian government.
More than 1 million people are benefiting from the programme, from which, 25 000 are students and teachers.
