TIRANA, Sept 8 /ATA/ – The new school year will start for more than 350.000 students in primary and secondary schools across Albania on Monday.
The Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu said Sunday that the new 2024-2025 school year will begin with a series of completed investment aimed at providing decent conditions and contemporary standards for around 350 000 high-school students and pupils, with over 28 000 of them starting school for the first time.
“A good start with textbooks distributed to 238 000 students for free, 25 new schools, +216 SMART labs and newly-constructed sport grounds, as well as highly-motivated teachers following the record high wage increase to 950 euros a month,” Manastirliu said in a post on the social media.
The free textbooks distribution is already underway in all schools across Albania under a government initiative. This academic year hundreds of thousands of free academic textbooks were distributed from the first to the fifth graders.
