TIRANA, September 4 /ATA/ The Ministry of Defense reported today that during the last 24 hours, there have been identified 25 wildfires. Thanks to the quick and organized response of the relevant Civil Protection structures at the local and central level, 23 fires have already been extinguished.
Meanwhile, the wildfire in the village of Shishtavec, Kukës municipality, has been rather problematic, but it was completely isolated, thanks to the coordinated intervention of the Armed Forces and the Cougar Helicopter.
While the fires in Selenica municipality and Fushë-Arrëz municipality continue to remain active, but without any risk to the lives and property of the citizens.
336 firefighters, servicemen, police officers and volunteers, supported by the Cougar helicopter, have been engaged in firefighting operations. The commitment of these forces has brought about the stabilization of the situation in the entire country.
The Ministry of Defense called on the citizens to avoid lighting fires and to report any incident in time. Damage to property by fire is punishable by law.
The relevant institutions will continue monitoring and are ready to act to guarantee the safety and protection of the citizens. /p.s./
