TIRANA, Aug 19 /ATA/ Minister of Education and Sport, Ogerta Manastirliu, held a meeting with inspectors of the educational offices under regional directorates, representatives of the National Agency for Pre-University Education and the Center of Educational Services.
This meeting was aimed at discussing and planning measures to ensure that the new school year starts well and meets the standards set for educational institutions in the country.
Minister Manastirliu underlined the importance of cooperation and coordinating work between institutions in the runup to the new school year.
“I call on all the heads of the institutions of the National Agency for Pre-University Education, the Center for Educational Services and the Quality Assurance Agency to ensure better cooperation and harmonization of work. We need to come up with an action plan, especially when it comes to verifications, monitoring and inspections. This harmonization requires you to be faster, more interactive, but above all, more firm on this shared mission to guarantee the best standards and the highest quality of the education system. Standards are reached if there is a close coordination and uncompromising commitment on your part,” Manastirliu addressed the inspectors and directors of educational institutions.
Manastirliu underlined the necessity of strengthening cooperation with municipalities to guarantee decent infrastructure conditions in schools, especially for those in the process of reconstruction or rehabilitation.
“I will ask you to intensify work with municipalities to ensure that schools are ready to open their doors on September 9 and offer optimal conditions. This includes not only the maintenance of existing schools, but also the completion of reconstruction or rehabilitation projects. The most important part of your job is to ensure that every subject, in every school, whether in urban or rural areas, is covered by qualified teachers. We must not allow any subject to remain without proper coverage, because it would affect the quality of education we aim to provide for our children,” Manastirliu said, calling on inspectors to closely follow the process.
Monastirliu also put emphasis on monitoring and inspection of private schools, demanding a full commitment to ensure that these institutions also meet quality standards.
“You need to show 100% commitment to monitoring and verification in private education schools and kindergartens. This commitment should include monitoring infrastructure, verification of licenses and ensuring that all pedagogical staff are certified and recognized in compliance with the law. Our focus should be on ensuring the quality of teaching and the inspection of pedagogical staff in private educational institutions, to ensure that all children, whether in public or private schools, receive quality education in accordance with the required standards,” said Manastirliu.
