12-month bond yields slip

TIRANA, Aug 14 /ATA/ Interest rates for 12-month Treasury bills fell at auction this week.

According to data from the Bank of Albania, the weighted average yield decreased to 3.17%, from 3.19% at the last auction in July.

Investor demand at the auction resulted abundant, for a total amount of nearly ALL 9.1 billion, from 7.3 billion that was the announced amount for financing.

Yields on 12-month bonds have recorded a new minimum level for the past ten months. Lower bond yields were not registered since October 2023, before the Bank of Albania increased its interest rate from 3% to 3.25%. However, what was thought as a new wave of monetary tightening did not last.
