TIRANA, Aug 12 /ATA/ Described as the “pearl” of the Albanian Alps, Lepusha in Malësi të Madhe continues to attract visitors every season of the year.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on Monday images of visitors who have chosen the Lepusha mountain ranges to set up their camping tents and explore the area.
Lepusha is a place with great potential for nature and adventure tourism, while investments in guesthouses and agrotourism have propelled alpine tourism to development.
Due to high mountains, the rocky block of Shenik in the Cursed Mountains and surrounding mountains, the area is famed for its green pastures and dense forests.
The mainstay of the economy in the area is agriculture and livestock, but in recent years, agritourism has been developing.
Investments in agri-tourism have also built the first hostels, which have adapted the premises for an all-year tourism.
This area attracts many foreign visitors and tourists, mainly those who like mountain climbing, adventure, snow sports and naturalists.
