Rama: First Olympic Medal and chip on his shoulder

TIRANA, August 11/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote today an article in the social media about the first Olympic medal received by Albania, where wrestler Chermen Valiev managed to win the bronze medal yesterday at the “Paris 2024” Olympic Games.

Rama also reacted in the writing to all those who say that the first Olympic medal belonged to weightlifter Ymer Pampuri in Munich 1972.

Rama shared the post of the International Olympic Committee which reads that t Valiev’s bronze was the first Olympic medal for Albania. Rama made it clear that Ymer Pampuri’s medal is not an Olympic medal, but it is the gold medal in the relevant style at the world championship.

“Yesterday, Albania won the first medal in its history at the Olympic Games”, wrote PM Rama in his article.

“Under normal circumstances, there should be no need to give explanations today, but here we, the Albanians find it hard to rejoicing all equally when Albania makes a success”, wrote Rama further on.

Then, he referred to a great man of Albania, Faik Konica, who has explained the nature of the Albanian with that of a man who has a chip on his shoulder.

“The chip on the shoulder does not allow us to rejoice equally in the same way. The Albanians can give everything, but success”, wrote Konica. /p.s./
