TIRANA, July 22 /ATA/ Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption Adea Pirdeni presented today to representatives of 30 state institutions the draft of the Inter-sectoral Strategy against Corruption 2024-2030, opening a series of Public Consultations that will continue with various interest groups in the coming days.
The purpose of the Strategy is to address the main challenges of the fight against corruption through a triple approach based on prevention, punishment, and awareness.
This strategy has a special focus on sectors vulnerable to corruption, including property, health, taxes, customs, and education.
The aim of the Strategy is to provide a significantly improved framework for the coordination of all institutions responsible for the fight against corruption. And it also foresees a capillary extension of anti-corruption education.
For the first time, the Strategy is extended and applied to local government institutions and also focuses on promotion of integrity in the private sector.
All these measures are completely aligned with Albania’s 2030 Agenda, as well as address all the commitments that stem from the negotiation process with the European Union, for more solid institutions that create increased resistance to any breach of integrity day by day.
While listing the innovations brought by the Strategy, Minister Pirdeni stated that its approval will guarantee the continuity of the intervention with systemic measures for a country without corruption and a society in which values such as integrity, transparency and responsibility guide the actions of citizens and the performance of institutions.
Also, Minister Pirdeni thanked the delegation of the European Union in Albania that has assisted in the process of drafting the Strategy through the EU4GG Good Governance project, as a trusted partner of the Albanian government to advance the European agenda. /m.m/p.s./
