“Things take time” exhibition is on display at COD

TIRANA, July 17 /ATA/ An exhibition of works by 5 photographers of Magnum Photos, one of the most popular international photographic organizations in the world, was inaugurated last night in COD.

“Things time” is on display at the COD as a snap shot of two decades: the end of a madness and the dawn of a new century, the general director of the Agency for Dialogue and Co-governance, Eridana Çano, said in her remarks.
Çano said that the highlights after the change of systems come as evidence of a chronology that we have left behind and after that will be the written history of this country, showing us a poor, economically ruined Albania, the people who rushed to the embassies, which opened the door to the free world for them.

The pictures on display were taken in the years 1991-2010. After the fall of communism, photographers were able to freely and impartially document Albania, as before the country was isolated and cut off from the world. These works are of great importance, as they serve as historical evidence and lead to a deeper understanding of today’s Albania and other Balkan countries, whose history has always been interconnected and interdependent.
The exhibition is an attempt to showcase this period, a state of transition documented by artists from different backgrounds, where each one visually describes the situation, driven by personal experiences and his origin, but with a common theme.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, artists from various fields and art lovers were also present at the inauguration ceremony at COD. The exhibition will be on display until August 17, 2024.
