TIRANA, July 17 /ATA/ In the special ceremony organized by the Municipality of Tirana, where the Tirana mayor Erion Veliaj, presented the former US ambassador Alexander Arvizu with the Key to the City, the latter was full of praise for the transformation that Tirana has undergone in the last 10 years.
He thanked Veliaj for the appreciation and said that after 10 years he finds Tirana transformed beyond recognition.
“I humbly accept the ‘Key of Tirana’. These days I saw how Tirana has changed beyond recognition. When I left 10 years ago, I said that I am very optimistic about the future of Albania, and I really meant it. There was a part of me that had little doubt about how long this change, this transformation, would take. I’m not saying that everything is fantastic, great, but after a few days in Tirana I feel much, much better. I feel more confident, I have more confidence than I did 10 years ago when I left. Albania is on good track, and you will find your way with your decisions”, said Arvizu.
“I hope that my friends across the ocean, outside Albania, who want the best for you, have faith in you to make the right decisions. They should not make the decision, they will support you, while you are the decision makers and you will make the right decision”, said Arvizu.
