TIRANA, July 15 /ATA/ The Albanian and German governments reached an agreement today on building efficient mechanisms to deal with climate change.
Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro commented on the agreement.
According to her, although Albania is not a polluting country, it is at risk from natural disasters such as fires, which we are facing this year as well, or floods caused by climate change.
“Therefore, the agreement signed with the Government of Germany, a very valuable partner both in the field of the environment and in the field of tourism, is important,” she said.
Through the “ALBAdapt” project, Kumbaro explained, it is intended to build efficient mechanisms for coping with climate change, producing quality information, modernization of the infrastructure of the hydro-meteorological service and implementation of adaptive measures, from which many public and private sector actors benefit with the support of Germany, Switzerland and the Green Climate Fund (GCF). /r.e/p.s./
