TIRANA, July 11 /ATA/ – An anti-government rally summoned by the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) began in front of the Prime Minister’s office on the main Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard in Tirana on Thursday evening.
Thousands of opposition supporters gathered in the protest, calling for the release of the DP leader Sali Berisha from house arrest and formation of a technical government.
DP officials, opposition lawmakers and the President of the Freedom Party Ilir Meta are attending the protest.
State Police has announced a set of measures to ensure smooth conduct of the rally.
