PRISTINA, June 29 /ATA/ – The United States Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill was asked again regarding his recent statement that recognition of Kosovo’s independence will not be a condition for Serbia to join the European Union.
In a statement for the Serbian media, the U.S. diplomat also commented on the failed meeting between the Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, he said that the United States is somehow discouraged regarding this meeting.
“We are currently a bit discouraged. We really support and will continue to support the EU-mediated normalization dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. We think this is the right and the only way. I think that real effort is needed for progress to be made, because – as you already know – that not much is happening for months now,” Hill said.
