EU program, reinforcement of employment models in 19 municipalities

TIRANA, June 14 /ATA/ As part of the launch of the project “EU for Inclusion in Labor Market” EU4LMI – a project financed by EU and implemented by UNDP in partnership with the Swedish Public Employment Service and the Albanian Foundation for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the stakeholders held a working meeting where they unveiled the project and discussed how this project will contribute to Albania’s efforts to create a more inclusive society.

“EU for Labor Market Inclusion” aims to strengthen inclusive and active employment and skills development models in the 19 target municipalities of Prrenjas, Gjirokastra, Vora, Mallakastra, Cërrik, Librazhd, Shijak, Kavaja, Kurbin, Kukës, Kruja, Pogradec, Korça, Kamza, Vlora, Shkodra, Elbasan, Durrës and Tirana, scaling up the models of active labor market programs and skills development programs.

The EU4LMI will foster integrated approaches to developing labor market resilience, bringing together skills development, employment promotion and social care and engaging with all other regional and local labor market stakeholders.

This is a strategic response to the challenges facing vulnerable groups, particularly cash aid recipients, people not included in education, employment or training, people with disabilities and new mothers who are out of work.
The project is in line with the ongoing reforms of Albania’s economic, employment and skills development policies, as well as with the country’s efforts on the path to EU integration.
