TIRANA, June 13 /ATA/ – German Ambassador to Albania Karl Bergner met with the State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi to discuss current status of the electoral code reform in Albania.
German Embassy said in a release on Thursday that Ambassador Bergner underlined the need for the swift and full implementation of the binding decisions of the Albanian Constitutional Court on electoral law, as well as the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, which also reflect the expectations of Albania’s international partners.
German Ambassador stated that all political groups and Albanian lawmakers have the responsibility to contribute constructively and in a spirit of cooperation to the ongoing process of electoral law reform and to reach an agreement by the end of July.
