TIRANA, June 13/ATA/ President Bajram Begaj held a meeting in Skopje with Speaker of the Assembly of North Macedonia Afrim Gashi where they talked about promotion of cooperation between the two countries.
Begaj wished Gashi the successful accomplishment of his commitments in the new office of the Speaker, while he positively assessed the fact of Albanian representation at the top of the leading institutions of North Macedonia.
During the conversation, there was emphasized the significance of learning from the past and the need not to repeat the mistakes.
“We, as persons with public functions, must be careful not to repeat the mistakes of the past and work for a better present and future”, said Begaj.
President Begaj also said that, “We must leave to the new generations a common regional heritage, built on the bridges of friendship, which, unlike in the past, where the bridges were mostly destroyed, are now being built up”.
Both interlocutors appreciated the cooperation between the two countries as excellent, while there were also noted the remaining areas for further improvement.
“We must work together as Albanians, as Macedonians and as citizens of this region”, said Begaj, emphasizing the commitment to continue expanding further the bilateral cooperation.
President Begaj expressed his belief in the further strengthening of relations and continuation of joint projects, so that the road of cooperation, as he put it, “from two common lanes, to get expanded into four.” /k.s/r.e/p.s./
