TIRANA, June 3/ATA/ Under the chair of MP Klotilda Bushka, the Parliamentary Committee for Legal Affairs, Public Administration and Human Rights reviewed at today’s meeting the law “On the issuance and distribution of privatization bonds” dated 1995, as initiated by MP Antoneta Dhima.
During presentation of the amendment to the law, Dhima explained that the initiative is about the proposal to extend the deadline validity of the privatization bonds until December 31, 2027.
Dhima stated that the initiative aims to provide a final solution to cases when the Albanian state has an obligation to return privatization bonds pursuant to a court decision. The amendment will also make it easy the privatization process for the former owners of the land, the entities that have a lease or lease contract and it will be useful in context of legalization of informal constructions through the State Cadastre Agency.
Dhima clarified that the initiative has been sent for consideration to the government and the relevant government ministries, which have expressed their agreement with the proposal made to postpone the deadline for the use of privatization bonds.
The privatization bonds have been used since 1995 for the privatization of state enterprises and the legalization of housing.
The Committee approved the privatization bonds deadline validity be extended up to December 31, 2027./r.e/p.s./
