TIRANA, May 30/ATA/ In the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD), there was held the second meeting of the “Albanian Language in Contemporary” cycle, in context of the “Year of the Albanian Language”, announced as such by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
The invited guest to this event was prof. dr. Anila Omari, from the Institute of Linguistics and Literature.
The antiquity of the Albanian language, its origin, the data that lead us to a trace of more than 6000 years, but also the close connection with the human language and studies, were some of the issues that Professor Omari discussed in the presence of students, teachers and professors. She spoke longer on the origin of the language as part of the Indo-European branch of languages, methods, concepts, disciplines and inter-disciplines, but also similarities with other peoples. The topic gave rise to a conversation of questions and answers that are the subject not only of conversations, but also of studies about the Albanian language.
The meeting also touched on the challenges of this century, which the Albanian language is facing, such as a series of political and social changes, which are directly affecting language issues. /r.e/p.s./
