Rama: We begin from Himara distribution of 437 property titles with chronic problems

TIRANA, May 24 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting today with the citizens in Himara marking the beginning of a process for distribution of 437 property titles this year for the inherited houses in cadastral areas with chronic problems such as Thethi, Vermoshi, Tropoja and so on in the north and Himara and Saranda in the south.

Rama took the opportunity to explain “the long delay in issuing certificates for the inherited houses”.

Rama argued that the long delay has been exploited in a very diabolical manner by those who have no other purpose than to exploit the legitimate concern of the local residents so that to advance their very narrow political interests. And this has also nothing to do with the content of our relations with our neighbors, said Rama.

Rama told the inhabitants of Himara that, “The inhabitants of Theth, the inhabitants of Tropoja, the inhabitants of Kukës, Malësi e Madhe and the inhabitants of Himara down to the Saranda face the same issue, the same concern, and the same problem.

“There has never been and never will be any intention to prevent the solution of this problem”, said Rama.

This problem, the head of the government added, “has to do with the registration of properties, with the registration of properties after the change of the system. In many areas, the law No 7501 has not been accepted and on the other hand there have been committed many injustices through the so-called the Act of Acquisition of Land in Ownership, which you know better than I do. This has also prevented the registration of the inherited houses”.

The prime minister also pointed at the propaganda that has hindered the process, as if this is done to take the properties from the inhabitants and legitimate heirs of Himara and give them to the so-called oligarchs.

“You know better than everyone because you live here. First of all, there has been not a single m2 from Llogaraja to Ksamil that has been taken from a legitimate owner or heir and given to someone else by the state. But, there are definitely serious situations that have happened before we came in office when there was played a very dirty criminal game with the Act of Acquisition of Land in Ownership and when certain individuals connected to the then government have appeared as owners. You know very well who they are; who have put the heirs before a choice, to either agree to sell their property or they would never be happy. This is the story of the past”, said Rama.

“Whoever claims that the properties have been taken from the Himara people, the heirs and passed on to someone else, without their approval, is telling a very big lie. This has never happened”, Rama emphasized./p.s./
